Counselling may benefit you if...

Your fatigue has intensified and falling asleep becomes a real headache. You think about tomorrow and rehash your day.

You have a feeling of helplessness, as if you are not completely free to live your own life and make your own choices. It is like a voice inside you that prevents you from being yourself and revealing yourself.

Anxiety attacks or the persistent sense of unease experienced daily, often without any apparent cause. Physical discomforts manifest themselves, adding to the overall uneasiness.

Sometimes, you may experience a sense of not fitting in. You possess dreams yet hesitate to act due to the fear of failure and the apprehension of others' scrutiny. That persistent inner voice anticipates and judges you before you even begin.

Some relaxation techniques help you relax on time. Medication is sometimes your best friend in dealing with certain situations in your life, but you've had enough of it. Continue reading to see the Areas I Help With or contact me.

Anxiety Over Life Transitions

I have years of experience in supporting adolescents and working professionals to manage their anxiety around life transitions. This could involve starting a new job, switching career, unemployment, going to university, moving to a new city, among other changes we go through. It is natural to feel overwhelmed in these instances, and our sessions will be about engaging with this fear and developing a more positive, informed mindset around your upcoming transition, whatever it may be.

Relationship Issues

People who work in a fast-paced corporate environment can often encounter difficulties in their personal relationships. Some find it impossible to properly switch off and connect with others intimately, due to the levels of stress that have built up over time. It could be that you notice the same patterns emerging again and again. If this is the case, my life coaching and psychotherapy gives you a chance to interrogate the source of this problem and enjoy more fulfilled relationships going forward.

Depression

When stress builds up over time, or if we don’t listen to our emotions and push them down, that pent-up tension can morph into depression, causing feelings of hopelessness, fatigue, sadness, or even numbness. Depression occurs often in the corporate sphere; people don’t feel like they can open up, so they keep these feelings to themselves, which only makes the problem worse. My practice is a safe, completely private place to work through these feelings in your own time.

Substance Misuse

The pressures of the corporate world can be overbearing at times. It can feel like the deadlines never stop, and as a result it is common for people to use substances such as alcohol, tobacco, or drugs as a form of comfort and solace from the stress they feel on a daily basis. Instead of simply getting you to stop, we will take a holistic approach to understanding the ‘why’ behind your substance misuse and the effect of substances on your cognitive processes, ultimately getting to a point where you don’t need to resort to these substances as a way of making yourself feel better.

Neurodivergence

As someone who is neurodivergent, along with over 15 years experience working with children and young people who are neurodivergent as well, I have a close understanding of the challenges that can present when working in the corporate arena. There is precious little knowledge around neurodivergence and its impact on how one processes certain situations in the work environment, and I have high levels of experience in giving these individuals the tools and support they need.

Cultural Issues

If you are moving to a new country or city for work, it is understandable that you might feel worried, isolated, or overly stressed by the challenges of adjusting to a new lifestyle. Perhaps you don’t have many people to reach out to. Coping with this adjustment, along with maintaining good performance at work, is quite a strain, and you don’t have to deal with it on your own. I am here to deliver the targeted support you need and create a place for you to explore and move past any stresses you might be experiencing.

Sexuality

My experience covers working with people, particularly teenagers and young adults, who are facing issues around their sexuality, gender, and/or identity. This includes those in polyamorous relationships, as well as LGBTQIA+ individuals facing all kinds of issues, such as transitioning or coming out. I always take an affirmative, compassionate approach to working with these problems, creating a space that ensures you feel safe and listened to.

Young People Issues

Young people experience a number of problems that aren’t easy to communicate to friends or family, such as bullying, body issues, feeling isolated at a new school, stress over exams, social anxiety, and so many other areas. As an experienced life coach and psychotherapist, I have seen, first hand, the importance of providing a therapeutic intervention that makes sense to them, creating the conditions needed for each young person to feel comfortable in expressing their emotions.
