If you are struggling with anxiety over a career change, a recent bereavement, relationship issues, depression, or just feel stuck in the same unhealthy patterns and don’t know how to break free, I am here to provide the targeted holistic help you need.
As a life coach and psychotherapist in Islington, Dalston, and online with years of experience, I use applied neuroscience to help you understand how your mind works, how you process difficult situations, as well as working with you to learn the role culture and relationships play in how you feel about yourself. My role is to be a confidential, professional guide who walks alongside you during every step of your journey towards greater knowledge and happiness.
For more information on what my life coaching and psychotherapy in Islington, Dalston, or online actually involves, don’t hesitate to give me a call, or simply keep reading.
The first step of my life coaching is to learn what makes you tick, gaining a sense of what is helpful for you and what is not so helpful. To do this, we will build a full profile of you as an individual, looking at factors such as your cultural context, social location, intimate relationships, unconscious power dynamics, childhood events, and embedded habits. We will also explore the importance of values, as this creates motivation for change.
Only by looking at your life in a holistic way can we stimulate meaningful lasting change. I go beyond just giving you solutions: our sessions will also be about educating you on the neurobiology that lies behind your unhealthy thought patterns and maladaptive behaviours. Working in this way gives you greater power over your thoughts, given that you know how they arise and what role they play in your life.
Therapeutic Alliance
It is common when entering life coaching or psychotherapy for the first time to not know what to expect, and perhaps feel a little self conscious or nervous for the first few sessions. This may be true no matter a person's age or the reasons for coming.
I offer a warm and welcoming space allowing you to progress at a pace comfortable for you. After our initial call, you may have further questions and we can explore these during the course of your sessions. With consideration and respect, I will guide you through the stages of building a therapeutic alliance to support your path to healing and freedom.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." — Anon
I have over a decade of experience in delivering psychotherapy for young people and adults facing a range of complex issues, such as anxiety and depression. My work in the past has involved helping parents work through relationship blocks, post-natal depression, or problems with connecting to one’s children, among other areas. We will work to understand the roots of your problem – where it actually starts.
In order to blossom, a tree must have strong roots, and a human being is no different. Connecting with your core self is the first step towards making genuine change, which is why I often use mindfulness techniques that bring you back to your body and the present moment during our sessions. This includes mindfulness-based stress reduction, embodiment techniques, mantras, mirror work, tantra, and other evidence-based techniques.
